What are childcare’s hours?
Monday through Friday: 8:00am-8:00pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am-2:00pm

Please note that late pick up fees will apply. The late pick up fee is $20 for every 15 minutes you are late. Repeated late pick-up will result in having your childcare privileges removed from your membership.

Do I have to make a reservation for my child to come to childcare?
Reservations are only required for children 6 weeks to 1 year, or for children with special needs requiring closer supervision. To make a reservation, please call 239-6688 ext. 104. Reservations can be made up to 48 hours in advance. If you miss your specific reservation time, you are not guaranteed a spot at a later time in the day without a new reservation. Please call to cancel if you cannot make your reserved time.

How long can my child stay in childcare? If I don’t use up all of my time can I return the same day for a second visit?
Children 6 weeks to 6 months can visit us 1.5 hrs daily, children 6 months thru 13 years can visit childcare 2.0 hrs daily, and children may return for a second visit and use any remaining time from that day.

Can I purchase paid time in childcare? How much paid time in child care can I purchase? How much time may I use per day?
Yes. Childcare hours may be purchased in one hour blocks and redeemed in one hour blocks. An hour of childcare costs $6.00, or can be purchased in a package of 10 hours for $50.00. Children 6 weeks to 6 months can use 1.5 hrs on top of their free time daily. This will require the redemption of 2 hour blocks. Children 6 months thru 13 years can use childcare 2.0 hours on top of their free time daily. ***Note: Children MUST be checked out of childcare after the free time alotted, and their needs MUST be fulfilled prior to returning for any paid time.

Can an alternate adult member drop off or pick up my child/children to/from childcare?
Yes, the parent/guardian of the child must first complete a Member Student Data form. This form is available in childcare and must be retained in childcare. The student data form enables the parent/guardian of the child to give guardianship to 1-4 adults (18 yrs of age or older), that are active members of the club. Any of the 4 persons listed on the form will be able to drop off/pick up their child from the childcare department. A picture ID is then required and must be presented by the adult mentioned on the form at both drop off and pick up.

Is it ok for my child to wear socks or bare feet in childcare?
No, for the safety of the children we require that each child wear shoes. Infants under the age of one or a child not walking should have some type of foot covering.

Is my child that is under the age of 3 able to be in the same room as his/her older sibling?
No, for the safety of the children the toys in the rooms are age specific. It is not safe for a child under the age of 3 to be in the Preschool Age Room or the School Age Room because of the sizes of some of the toys. Children will transition with time from their older siblings, please be patient.

Can my child attend childcare if he/she is sick or injured?
Children attending childcare should come in ready to participate and play. To maintain a healthy environment for all children we ask that you adhere to the policy below when your child’s health may be questionable. If your child has any of the following symptoms they should not attend childcare: vomiting, yellow or green nose discharge, pain, swelling, rash, fever of any degree, conjunctivitis (pink eye), influenza, diarrhea, chicken pox, coxsackie virus or any other contagious illness.

We require that you notify us if your child has recently visited the childcare department and was diagnosed by a physician with a communicable disease. Children with potentially contagious bloodbourne diseases will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but will generally be excluded if the disease can be transmitted through open cuts. Children who are recovering from injuries will be evaluated on a case by case basis. If they require additional attention, they can be accommodated in the Infant Area.

Why am I being given a pager/beeper? What happens if I lose or break it?
Pagers are given to the parent/guardian that is dropping the child off in childcare. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to wear the pager at all times and respond immediately to the page as your attention is needed. If a member is swimming laps, closet lifeguard will hold pager.

The pager has a 3 digit number on it which corresponds to the three digit number placed on your child’s sticker. A child can only be released upon return of the pager or payment for the cost of its replacement. Matching the 3 digit code on the pager to the 3 digit code on your child’s sticker ensures that your child has been released to the proper adult. In the event that you should lose or break the pager you will be charged the current market cost for its replacement.

Can I come back into the room with my child?
No, for the safety and security of all of the children in childcare parents/guardians are not permitted in the rooms.

Can I leave the building while my child/children are checked into childcare?
No, parents must remain inside the HAC facility while their children are checked into childcare.

Will you give my child their medicine?
No, the childcare department can not dispense medication to a child. If your child may require medication in emergencies, you must include this information in a "special needs" form.  The childcare center will beep you in the event of an emergency; you are responsible for having any medication that may be needed.

My child is disabled/handicapped and/or has special needs, can they come to childcare? What do I need to do?
The childcare center does not discriminate against children with temporary or permanent disabilities. Children with disabilities who do not require additional attention will be placed according to their age or, where appropriate, their developmental age.

So that the childcare department and its staff can adequately care for your child, we request that you provide us with general information describing your child’s needs. In some cases, accommodations that require little effort can be handled in the child care rooms.

If in the Club's opinion your child's needs or requested accommodations will require additional supervision, your child is welcome to come to child care and can be accommodated in the Infant Area.  The Infant Area has the lowest number child to staff ratio in the department (1 staff member to 4 children).  We cannot accommodate your child if they require one to one supervision. It is required that you make a reservation for a child who requires additional supervision, as noted in FAQ 1.  If a parent/guardian fails to make a reservation, the child will only be taken if space and staff are available.

Will childcare transport my child/children to and from the bundled classes that I have registered them for?
No, the focus of the childcare department is to insure the safety of children in our care and to be interacting without the distraction and risks associated with gathering and transporting children within the facility. The childcare staff prides itself on the quality of care that they provide and will continue to do so for all its Members.

Are there cases when childcare is not available, or can be denied?
Yes.  Childcare is an additional service that is not guaranteed.  Staffing, holidays, weather and other circumstances may require us to close the center or limit the number of children.  Children who are disruptive, injure others, or pose a risk of injury to themselves or others may be asked to leave, and in some cases excluded from the child care area.
