In 2017, Denise won the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Personal Trainer in the state of Delaware. In 2019, Denise received her ACE Senior Fitness Specialist Certification.  With this fresh approach and the tools used from this specialized program, she is able to give her senior clients exercises to enhance and challenge their cognitive performance along with other balance related systems that need to be challenged as we age.

Denise has successfully helped clients lose weight, gain lean muscle and make a lifestyle change to meet their fitness goals.  In the  2005 LifeStyle Challenge, Denise’s client lost 30 pounds in 3 months!  Corrective exercise is paramount and Denise works with Physical Therapists to incorporate these tools into her fitness programs.  She has experience with a wide range of clients to include hip and knee replacements, shoulder and ankle injuries, to clients who have Parkinson’s disease.  She also trains athletes to take them to the next level in their sport.

Denise enjoys seeing her clients succeed in achieving their fitness goals with a new level of self-confidence. Motivation and positive reinforcement are vital and she views fitness as a lifestyle change. She believes that partnering with clients to design an effective program that encompasses proper nutrition, cardio, flexibility, core, balance and strength training is the key for long term success.  Accepting new fitness challenges keeps her programs fresh.  As an avid cyclist and runner, she competes in half marathons and triathlons.  She has completed numerous 5k’s and has always brought home medals.  Denise’s clients benefit from her knowledge and experience. Keeping her programs fresh and challenging is what keeps her clients motivated.

Readers Choice 2017.png

I joined HAC in April 2008, knowing I would need a special trainer to work with me. I have Parkinson’s Disorder. I needed someone who was willing to learn about this disease, devise an exercise program that is specific to me and mix in exercises to challenge me in balance, strength and co-ordination. Denise has been able to do that and more. She is always positive and encouraging. She understands that exercise plays a large role in delaying some of the disabling effects of Parkinson’s. She has self educated herself about the effects of this disease so that she can devise the best possible workouts for me.
