The babysitter's course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, exciting videos, role-playing, and lively discussions. You’ll gain the confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation.

Participants will learn

How to supervise children and infants
How to perform basic child-care skills such as diapering and feeding
How to be a safe responsible and successful babysitter
The importance of being a leader and using the FIND decision-making model to make decisions and solve problems
How to use the Babysitter's Self-Assessment Tool to help you learn about your babysitting skills, abilities and interests, and will help you know which babysitting jobs are right for you
Basics of child development
How to choose safe, age-appropriate games & toys
How to handle bedtime and discipline issues
How to identify safety hazards and prevent injuries
How to communicate effectively with parents

Details

Must bring a packed lunch and a doll or teddy bear to class. The class requires a minimum of five paid attendees registered by the week prior to the class date.
