Discover Judo & JuJutsu
Judo and JuJutsu are traditional Japanese martial arts that build confidence, discipline, and respect while teaching effective self-defense skills. Students learn throws, grappling, pins, joint locks, and more — developing balance, coordination, and focus both on and off the mat.
Whether you’re looking for fitness, self-defense, or personal growth, our classes provide a safe, supportive environment for all ages.
Why Train in Kodokan Judo & Japanese Ju-Jutsu?
Kodokan Judo, Japanese Ju-Jutsu (JJJ), and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) are all highly respected martial arts that share common roots but have evolved with different areas of emphasis.
Kodokan Judo develops balance, leverage, timing, and control through powerful throws, pins, submissions, and breakfalls (the ability to fall safely). Students build confidence, coordination, discipline, and learn to use technique and body mechanics rather than strength alone.
Japanese Ju-Jutsu is a traditional, comprehensive self-defense system designed for real-world situations. Students learn strikes, throws, joint locks, takedowns, escapes, weapon defenses, and ground defense, providing the skills needed to respond effectively whether standing or on the ground.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specializes primarily in ground grappling and submission techniques. It is widely recognized as both a competitive sport and an effective grappling system, with a strong emphasis on controlling an opponent once the fight goes to the ground.
At HAC Martial Arts, we combine the strengths of Kodokan Judo and Japanese Ju-Jutsu to provide students with a complete martial arts education. Our program develops practical self-defense skills, technical precision, athletic ability, confidence, and the discipline that extends far beyond the mat.
